Crafting Calm: Making a Sensory Bottle

Here’s a cheap and easy recipe to personalize and make your own sensory bottle. Not only is this a fun craft to do with your kids, the end result provides a great calming tool for them! Win-Win!

Materials Needed

  • Clear plastic bottle with a secure lid

  • Glitter and confetti (choose your favorite colors)

  • ½ cup of corn syrup

  • Bottle of glitter glue

  • Water

Steps:

  1. Gather Materials: Listed above.

  2. Add Glitter and Confetti: Open the bottle and add glitter and confetti into the empty bottle. You can add as much or as little as you want and experiment with different colors!

  3. Pour in Corn Syrup: Measure ½ cup of corn syrup and pour it into the bottle.

  4. Add Glitter Glue: Squeeze a bottle of glitter glue (approximately 3oz) into the mixture.

  5. Fill with Water: Slowly fill the bottle with water until it reaches just below the top. Leave some space to allow for shaking without overflow.

  6. Secure the Lid: Seal the bottle tightly with its lid. For extra security, an adult can use hot glue to seal the lid shut.

  7. Shake and Enjoy: Give the bottle a shake and watch the glitter and confetti move in the bottle.
